In this digital age, Artificial Intelligence has grown from a simple science fiction fantasy to a possible reality that is revolutionizing various aspects of our lives.

It plays a fundamental role, in the field of education, by transforming the way students learn and prepare for the future ahead of them. But how is AI affecting the world of education and what benefits does it offer students?

Artificial Intelligence is a term used to refer to machines and computers that possess the capability to perform tasks and activities that would normally require the intelligence of a human being. These tasks include voice recognition, complex decision making and natural language processing.

Many people may fear that the rise of AI in the educational sector would lead to it replacing the traditional methods of teaching, but this couldn’t be further from the truth. It’s important to remember that main goal of AI is not to replace but instead improve our lives and make it easier. This same goal can be applied to AI’s effect on education, it is not meant to replace the job of educators but instead assist and improve their abilities.

AI improves the educational sector in a variety of ways such as simplifying administrative tasks for lectures by automatically grading the tests of students, allowing lecturers to spend more time with their students and figure out the best teaching method for them. AI can also play a part in helping teachers set up personalized learning for each student. AI can do this by customizing in-class assignments and exams for students, to ensure that they all get the best learning assistance possible. AI can also create a richer learning experience by generating audio descriptions and summaries for students to gain a deeper understanding of what they are studying.

However, despite the number of benefits that stem from the implementation of AI in the classrooms, there are also disadvantages as well. For example, the use of AI in the educational sector could bring about a loss of human connection. This is because AI driven classrooms may lack the empathetic and compassionate touch that human teachers offer, and this could potentially stunt and affect the emotional wellbeing and growth of a student. Over dependence on AI in the classroom could also affect a students’ critical thinking skills and creative skills as well.

Artificial Intelligence has brought a lot of benefits to the educational sector, but it has brought about a lot of concerns as well and as it continues to evolve, it will play an increasingly important role in how the students of tomorrow learn.
